"I set up all my clients on Airtable"

What do you like best about Airtable?

It's the most versatile software I use. I've been able to track incredibly complicated art collections for clients and share only the details buyers need to see. Airtable always wows people! It looks complicated, but when I show clients how they can move around Airtable and access important details, they are blown away. For art collectors, this is a powerful tool becaue it's so easy to implement and integrate their colelction into the format.

What do you dislike about Airtable?

I find their system of charging for use very confusing. I want to share my art collection template but worry that I'll be charged when people request permission to use it. I wish this were better explained.

What problems is Airtable solving and how is that benefiting you?

Number one problem is keeping track of art collections--images, purchase records, details about provenance, framing, condition, and current appraised prices are vital for imortant collections. When a client wants to see art, it is so easy to create a table with a subset of images and details and send that to the buyer. Airtable is a gamechanger in my business dealings.

"AirTable powers student registrations and class setup for my training business"

What do you like best about Airtable?

Airtable is easy to set up and modify as needed. I did not have to attend any special training or learn complex codes to get business automation up quickly. When there is an issue to figure out, I'm usually able to puzzle my way through fairly straightforward interfaces and implementations. Many of the features provided meet my need.

It also helps, that I was able to bootstrap my business when a gracious former employer let me clone and modify their setup.

Airtable provides a time-saving connection to purchases in my Shopify store, so every sale is eased, and manual interventions are infrequent.

What do you dislike about Airtable?

A coworker of mine who is not database-savvy had a hard time figuring it out, so it's not completely "dummy-proof".

What problems is Airtable solving and how is that benefiting you?

Customers purchase seats in my training classes in a Shopify store. An Airtable automation imports data from the sale and generates an enrollment for a particular class. Airtable then generates class lists, allows me to coordinate logistics, and provides useful summaries of attendance, profits, etc.

"Best App for Prototyping with Data"

What do you like best about Airtable?

User interface is done really well. Workflows are intuitive and powerful. Lots of free extensions and prepackaged code snippets to work with and use Data to prototype custom applications.

What do you dislike about Airtable?

Airtable is not as scalable as it could be. Increasing users, adding administrative functions, as well as advanced features such as Portals or A.I. become prohibitively expensive quickly. The business model Airtable has now makes it so some companies will simply grow out of it and find something else that's more cost effective.

What problems is Airtable solving and how is that benefiting you?

Streamlined tabulated data that allows quick and effective creation of tables that would otherwise be annoyingly tedious in Excel or Numbers. Given that it is web based, Airtable allows one to flawlessly utilize tables to embed forms or interactive data into other websites and applications without sacrificing beauty or user experience. It's extendability with products such as Data Fetcher allows for quick connections to other databases to develop the proof of concept for more advanced workflows including those that can be automated.

"Enjoying the collaboration and commenting"

What do you like best about Airtable?

Ability for multiple users to collaborate on records and keep a sparate chat on each record.

Lately, we've been impressed with the ChatGPT integration. Linking the prompt to client fields has been a huge game changer for us in creating social captions.

Love the formula fields and how quick they are.

What do you dislike about Airtable?

Don't like that you can't change the data entry on the record detail. Many mistakes are made because this screen isn't intuitive or friendly to NOT taking your hands off the keyboard. (we LOVE the tab key!!)

At least would like to tighten it up a bit, shorten fields, combine fields on one row (ie: first / last name). It would make it easier to read and navigate when there are alot of fields to work with in a record.

Implementation was a CHORE. Not intuitive at all. Took months to get things working just right.

What problems is Airtable solving and how is that benefiting you?

As a marketing agency, we have social media posts with tons of data about each post all over. Airtable not only allows us to consolidate all that data, as it comes in over time, but also collaborate on each piece.

Having multiple fields that are links are critical too, so we can link out to a reasearch document, and the related CANVA graphic. And then upload the final CANVA image right into the record.

The seperate chat piece allows the team to leave each other feedback as the social post progresses. Removes the need for emails and a seperate SLACK thread!

Very convenient! Less mistakes, quicker creation, better quality due to the improved collaboration.

"A delight for even the trickiest of workarounds"

What do you like best about Airtable?

Airtable is a very versatile and user-friendly platform that offers a wide range of features that can be applied in creative ways. I have found it extremely useful for data tracking and database management and find myself using it on a fairly regular basis. If I ever stumble upon a problem that could benefit from having a technical solution, Airtable is usually my go-to solution.

I find the view sharing feature greatly helpful for distributing data and resources internally, especially among others who don't need to access the platform itself but would benefit from the information contained in the bases and workspaces I create. It is easy to implement, especially given the ability to add on integrations and pulgins.

What do you dislike about Airtable?

In order to track and manipulate data in the right way, I have found there is a need for some coding experience. There are also instances where I've been unable to complete a task or execute a desired outcome, leaving me wondering if the issue is user error or a limitation of the platform. I also wish I better understood, or had more helpful guidance, around dependent records and multi-layered sorting and grouping.

What problems is Airtable solving and how is that benefiting you?

There are two major priojects where Airtable has been a lifesaver. The first is a large organizational directory. Each record has become a page in the directory with organizational information (addresses, phone numbers, mission statement, leadership, etc.). Through a plugin, I was able to create a self-serve portal where organizations can independently manage their listing. This has significantly reduced the need for myself or another database administrator to manually update these entries, and instead focus on cleaning up records for consistency before publishing.

The second is a work in progress project where we are tracking education program metrics and statistics. I have found it incredibly useful for calculating attendance numbers, parsing out numbers by certain parameters (e.g. city council districts, etc.) and producing quick and easy to access reports when we need to access accurate and timely information at any given time.

"Best in Show!"

What do you like best about Airtable?

Since I discovered Airtable a few years ago, it quickly became one of my all-time favorite platforms. I was trying to figure out how to do something technical on Excel when I stumbled across Airtable...and Airtable easly did it for me. Even for people who get nervous about learning new products find that this is so easy to learn, efficient and effective for pretty much any project you're working on. I've used it for creating an annual marketing plan, event management, database management, forms...the list goes on and on...

What do you dislike about Airtable?

I honestly haven't found anything I don't like about Airtable. Typically, when I think it can't do something, I find out it was user error and whatever I was trying to do is very easy if I just use the correct tool within the program.

What problems is Airtable solving and how is that benefiting you?

I use Airtable for many different types of projects: database management, strategic planning and implementation, project management, forms integrating into a database, org charts, page designs, etc. Find a project and I will find a way to use Airtable to help.

"Powerful Database, Easy to Set Up"

What do you like best about Airtable?

Initial setup is a breeze. So many functions are easily configurable. New fields (many different types) are easy to add. Complex programming is not required, but more advanced functions are available with their programming language. And the Community is very helpful when I want to do some more advanced functions.

I used to track my photography leads with Excel. No more. Airtable is SO much better. I can enter a project as a sales lead and execute it all the way through invoicing should it turn into a revenue project.

Changes are so easy. No copy and paste, no macros. It is an awesome database.

What do you dislike about Airtable?

There are just a few minor annoyances, but they are miniscule compared to the functionality I receive.

What problems is Airtable solving and how is that benefiting you?

Tracking projects from Sales Lead to actual project. Making sure I do my followups by color coding projects based on followup needed. Tracking my workflow on active projects so I know where I am and what is needed at all times.

"Great Product - Multiple Uses"

What do you like best about Airtable?

Airtable gives you the flexibility to choose how to use it. They offer multiple plan levels at some of the best rates on the market. There are more features and funcitonality compared to similar project management tools.

What do you dislike about Airtable?

There can be a learning curve for automations. If an automation is not already provided, or a field can't be created using a formula, your only other option is to create a script in your automation. There isn't a lot of resources available for this, as you're expected to have prior knowledge of JavaScript.

What problems is Airtable solving and how is that benefiting you?

Airtable allows us to keep all tasks in a centralized location, and we're able to carry large workloads rather than using Excel as a database. Almost every feature available in Excel is also available in Airtable, plus additional reporting, collection, and automation features. Rather than having to use several tools to accomplish a task, all of them are available in one place.

"Airtable: Flexible, Powerful, and a Total Game-Changer"

What do you like best about Airtable?

Airtable’s flexibility is its biggest strength. We’ve used it for everything from tracking client projects to automating tasks. One standout example was when we set up a custom Stripe integration for a client using Airtable’s scripting and webhook features—it worked perfectly and saved us a lot of time.

Another case was automating reminders and task tracking through Zapier integrations, which reduced manual follow-ups across our team. It’s great that we can use Airtable for both simple task management and more complex workflows, all in one platform. We rely on it daily—it’s become an essential tool for our operations.

What do you dislike about Airtable?

Some of the advanced setups, like when we configured the Stripe integration or certain automations, took longer than expected because of trial and error. The AI feature, while promising, wasn’t as efficient as we’d hoped—it took a while to get the right prompt for an automation and ended up consuming a lot of Airtable AI credits.

Customer support has been helpful whenever we reached out, but it would be great if they provided more guidance on advanced use cases or setup tips for things like scripting and AI. Additionally, we’ve found the reporting tools a bit limited. More built-in options for creating detailed reports would make Airtable even more valuable for tracking and analyzing data.

What problems is Airtable solving and how is that benefiting you?

Airtable has solved many of the challenges we faced with keeping our workflows streamlined and our data organized. Before using Airtable, we struggled with scattered information across different tools and a lot of manual work to keep things updated. Now, everything—from project tracking to client workflows—is centralized, making it much easier to manage.

One of the biggest wins has been automating repetitive tasks. For instance, we’ve set up reminders for overdue tasks using Zapier, and it’s reduced the need for manual follow-ups. Another example is the custom Stripe integration we built using Airtable scripting and webhooks, which allowed us to automate payment tracking for a client. This saved us hours of work and made the process far more efficient.

Airtable has also helped us collaborate better as a team. With customizable views and shared access, everyone stays on the same page without having to dig through email threads or spreadsheets. It’s especially useful for complex projects where we need to track multiple moving parts.

The flexibility of Airtable means we can adapt it to fit specific needs, whether it’s creating simple to-do lists or building fully automated workflows. As a result, we’ve been able to reduce errors, improve productivity, and deliver results to our clients faster.

"Top Tier Organization"

What do you like best about Airtable?

The organization of Airtable is top tier - our ability to change up the view, filter by specific categories, and quickly see the information we need throughout thousands of categories makes this the ideal software for our needs. It's easy to use, easy to put into work for our program, and has made it so simple to integrate with our other platforms that are used for our school. We've had nothing but wonderful experiences with the customer support team when needed. We use Airtable daily in our work, and it's a lifesaver!

What do you dislike about Airtable?

With multiple users, things can sometimes get confusing if someone forgets to put the views/filters back to usual. This could very well be user error though - perhaps we just aren't familiar enough with the system!

What problems is Airtable solving and how is that benefiting you?

We found Airtable at a critical point in our online school's development. We expected a small enrollment for our first year and foolishly thought we could just organize everything in a Google Drive folder. HA! When our enrollment numbers far exceeded what we expected, we instantly ran into organization issues. Airtable solved these problems for us immediately. We've used Airtable since 2022 and I can't imagine trying to manage our products and projects without it!

"Airtable is one of the best no-code database softwares out there!"

What do you like best about Airtable?

Ease of use, great functionality and user experience, build almost any solution needing a database! Compared to other similar products on the market (Smartsuite, Monday.com, Notion), Airtable is one of my favorites. The user experience feels seamless, very little friction, and not clunky at all.

What do you dislike about Airtable?

Love the interface features, but setting them up on your own can take quite a while. Also wish Airtable forms had a couple more features, such as creation pages/sections. I tend to use Fillout forms to create forms, which then connect to Airtable, because Airtable forms are missing some of the features Fillout has.

What problems is Airtable solving and how is that benefiting you?

I tend to use Airtable when I need a robust database to store complex data objects. For instance, I've created a company CRM (customer relationship management) to track our company's customers, donations, purchase history, campaigns (events, cohorts, and free downloads) people have participated in, as well as communications. I've also created a company accounting/bookkeeping database to store our company's finances, which includes our chart of accounts, our payees, our grant expenses, and entire list of financial transactions (any money coming into or going out of our company).

"Fantastic Data and Automation Tool"

What do you like best about Airtable?

Airtable makes building complex automations and databasing accessible to the average user. The UI is excellent, so it doesn't need any other tools to dress it up. The integrations are also pretty extensive, so there's bound to be a tool in your arsenal that works with Airtable.

What do you dislike about Airtable?

Some of the formulas are lacking - sometimes you have to use workarounds for something that would be simple on a different tool.

What problems is Airtable solving and how is that benefiting you?

One of the coolest things that Airtable has done is to bring some of our most popular database tables into a more accessible environment. So, for the average user that doesn't know SQL, they can still access valuable data and utilize it to enrich what they do on their team. I love that people can build useful tools that are relevant to our company and share them so they are public tools. This has saved me a ton of time, as I'm able to build off of some of our more capable developers.

"AirTable solved many problems with a single software"

What do you like best about Airtable?

AirTable allowed us to find a single solution. Rather than having to purchase separate CRM, property management, finance, grant management, and payroll software, then spend many hours to customize each one, we save thousands of dollars by just purchasing AirTable. We did invest a lot of hours up front to build exactly what we needed, but we would have had to spend a lot of those hours customizing other software anyway. When things were too complicated for us to figure out for ourselves, we could get help through AirTable's referral program and got our own specialist to get us through the really difficult parts. In the end, we are saving thousands, and can get exactly what we need. We've been able to leave confusing and less functional spreadsheets and tables behind!

What do you dislike about Airtable?

We've been using AT for almost 18 months, and all the functionality wasn't there originally. But more is added all the time, which we are grateful for, so I'm not sure that's even a drawback!

What problems is Airtable solving and how is that benefiting you?

We struggled to be able to find data in our numerous spreadsheets for our year-end reports. Now it's all in one place and displayed in beautiful graphs for the board of directors. We have become much more efficient. Saving time and money.

"Airtable makes everything easier."

What do you like best about Airtable?

I have been using Airtable since 2018 and it continues to improve and add features that help me every day. I use automations across Slack, email and Google calendar to decrease my manual workload and have taught members of my team how to utilize Airtable for their work as well. I've probably saved at least 20 hours of work a week with Airtable automations!

Some folks I introduce to Airtable feel daunted by it at first because it's so open-ended: you can truly build anything! Once they get the basics, though, their wheels start turning, just like mine do, to use it in all areas: project management, data tracking and analytics, and communications.

In addition to providing great resources online to learn about new features and help me build my bases, Airtable's customer support has also continually been helpful when I've gotten stuck at any point. I'm so grateful!

What do you dislike about Airtable?

The only issue I've come up against with Airtable recently is the calendar integration. Rather than add attendees to calendar invites (via automation), Airtable wipes the existing attendees and replaces with the attendees from the field. I haven't found a workaround without using Zapier as a third-party resource to connect the dots.

That's the only snafu I've run into; usually I find or customer support helps me find a solution if I get stuck.

What problems is Airtable solving and how is that benefiting you?

By automating communications and workflows, Airtable has saved countless hours of labor and decreased human error for me personally as well as my team. It also provides "one source of truth" across several stakeholders for data: the nitty gritty needed to perform daily tasks, as well as the data analytics that let us zoom out to measure success over time.

"The Best of All Worlds when it Comes to CRMs"

What do you like best about Airtable?

Airtable's standout feature is its incredible adaptability, making it a powerful tool for virtually any use case. Its flexibility allows users to customize workflows and databases to fit their specific needs, whether for project management, content planning, CRM, or inventory tracking. Additionally, Airtable excels at integrating data across multiple levels, enabling users to connect related tables and fields seamlessly. This integration capability ensures that all data is consolidated into one clean, comprehensive database, providing a clear and organized view of complex information. Its intuitive interface, paired with its robust functionality, makes Airtable an indispensable tool for individuals and teams looking to streamline operations and improve data accessibility. The script extrenseion allows for easy to implement customability to whatever one might need which allows me to use our extensive database on a daily basis for a variety of of our clients. The customer support team is quick and does a great job of working on an individual level to solve any issue or question one might have.

What do you dislike about Airtable?

My least favorite aspect of Airtable is the difficulty in collaborating with non-Pro users, which significantly limits its usability within an organization. While Airtable offers powerful features for Pro users, the disparity in access and functionality between user tiers can hinder teamwork. Non-Pro users often face restrictions that prevent them from fully engaging with the platform, making it challenging to scale its use across larger teams or departments. As a result, collaboration is often limited to a select few within the organization, reducing the platform's overall effectiveness for widespread adoption.

What problems is Airtable solving and how is that benefiting you?

Airtable solves the challenge of organizing and managing complex data across multiple use cases, providing significant benefits for my work.

For one client, I use Airtable to create and manage a detailed and comprehensive press list. Its relational database structure allows me to track and organize contacts across various categories, including media outlets, journalists, regions, and specializations. I can easily link relevant data—such as past communications, press releases sent, or upcoming opportunities—to ensure nothing falls through the cracks. Airtable’s ability to filter, group, and sort data allows me to quickly identify the best media contacts for specific stories, saving time and ensuring precision in outreach.

For another client, I use Airtable for project management of social media campaigns across multiple countries. It enables seamless collaboration with team members in different time zones, ensuring each post goes through the necessary approval process and is scheduled efficiently. The platform's customizable views, such as Kanban boards, calendars, and grids, make it easy to track the status of every post, from concept to publication. With built-in automations, Airtable sends reminders for pending tasks and approvals, keeping the workflow organized and reducing the risk of delays.

These capabilities have streamlined my workflows, increased efficiency, and allowed me to deliver higher-quality results for my clients.

"Powerful database that helps to connect stakeholders with critical information"

What do you like best about Airtable?

Airtable is a flexible database that enables several teams at Yubico to manage content creation and to then share it out in various views so our stakeholders can quickly and easily find the content they need. We use Airtable to track our customer interactions around advocacy which helps us to pace our asks of advocates to provides a clear record of advoacates who are truly engaged with Yubico.

We have other marketing teams that use Airtable to manage content they are creating and help with scheduling the content they will issue on social channels as well as campaigns that the content will support. The flexbility that Airtable provides enables different teams to manage their own bases and to do support completely unique use cases.

Airtable is used daily by different teams and the sheer ease of use has enabled success across teams. Our stakeholders love the easy access and quick answers that our various views provide them.

Having used Airtable at two companies I have seen teams of all sizes benefit from what can be created, developed, managed and supported in Airtable.

This flexibility of the database is a major strength of Airtable. The easy integration across our various teams is also a major benefit. Some of the new features will be a benefit as we expand our use of the database in the coming year.

What do you dislike about Airtable?

Working on formulas by myself has not been very easy for me. I have been able to lean into Airtable support to help me work through creating the proper updates to my bases.

What problems is Airtable solving and how is that benefiting you?

For customer advocacy, we are using Airtable as a foundational platform for our program. I use it to track customer leads, requests, and progress content and as a way to share live and available content. This helps me to stay on top of our customer advocacy program.

For our social team, they use it to plan out their social posts and to enable their delivery across social channels in an organized fashion.

For Campaigns, they have used it to help our agency and team members be aligned on themes, campaigns and planning.

"Endless Possibilities, Practical Results"

What do you like best about Airtable?

I use Airtable primarily as a CRM across multiple organizations, and the ability to have accessibility to develop functionality that supports the complex needs of how that data is shared between bases, amongst team members and even now with the public has been unbelievably powerful.

What do you dislike about Airtable?

Airtable is always innovating, so my only complaint is that I don't have enough time to take advantages of new features being developed as they are being released!

What problems is Airtable solving and how is that benefiting you?

Having a cloud-based platform that is also supported on mobile devices and tablets allows for great application and function throughout our grassroots organization. It allows us to develop systems with specific needs and user accessibilities that allow us to empower volunteers to have greater impact without concern for data privacy or unintended data manipulations. We lean heavily on Airtable to pull off events that allow us to coordinate several moving parts, including thousands of people with just a few clicks of a button. And the automations... GAME CHANGER!

"Airtable is always the best option!"

What do you like best about Airtable?

I've been using Airtable in multiple roles now from small businesses to enterprise level, it truly can do it all. Being in HR, I've had the opportunity to build out comprehensive automation systems for Leave Management, Onboarding, Offboarding, and more. I can confidently say I've used Airtable everyday for the past 4 years and truly wouldn't have it any other way, it has enhanced more processes to account for and organized millions of data fields to this day. The UI and UX for others who are not as familiar with Airtable is a dream. Airtable is able to adjust to your needs using a handful of different subscription options making it easy to suit the needs of your company and providing a seamless implementation, amazing customer support, and reliable data/process flows for companies big and small.

What do you dislike about Airtable?

Airtable can be complex when looking at it as a beginner. But with that complexity and questions, Airtable community is a great help at getting started with the wonders of Airtable and all of its' capabilities.

What problems is Airtable solving and how is that benefiting you?

Airtable is helping keep many data points in one centralized locations and allowing me to sync databases to create branches of projects, data, and processes from one single source. It has helped automate very manual processes in onboarding, offboarding, leave management, company-wide initiatives, and more.

First and foremost, as an artist who works with a lot of data in my day job, I highly appreciate Airtable's visual appeal. I can create Views to separate information or separate categories by color, gone are the days of sprawling spreadsheets with minimal filtering options. Whew!

The ability to view multiple forms of data (images, emails, dates, links) in multiple formats (grid, calendar, gallery, or Kanban) is fast and effortless. Can't recommend it enough.

What do you dislike about Airtable?

Airtable Interfaces: While the interfaces are excellent for viewing data, it would be even more powerful if they allowed users to enter data directly. This would make Airtable an even better tool for collaboration without every user needing to be an Airtable expert on where to find and enter information.

What problems is Airtable solving and how is that benefiting you?

It has become the source of truth for information. We use many tools at our company. Some of the tools are integrated with Airtable. Even when a tool isn't seemlessly integrated into Airtable, I can still embed Airtable within those spaces and/or put links and docs directly into my base, so it's still a one stop shop.

"A great backend for web application development!"

What do you like best about Airtable?

I love how easy it is to create data tables that are completely customizable in how I use the data. I can manipulate things however I need to in order to get the end result I need. Airtable can handle most of the heavy lifting with data manipulation when I am developing web apps.

What do you dislike about Airtable?

There are some features that other services like Zapier or Make have that I wish Airtable had. I think in time they will probably start to add some of those things, but in it's current state it has about 90% of what I need. It is close, but not perfect. Still it is by far the the easiest way to manipulate data and do all sorts of useful things with it.

What problems is Airtable solving and how is that benefiting you?

I manage a lot of dates and timelines in a web app that I develop for. I can have Airtable handle all the heavy lifting with doing the math on windows of time based on given dates, etc. From there I can integrate with Google Calendar to automate scheduling, etc.
