"Game changer for my productivity and prioritization"

What do you like best about Asana?

Love that my team has been able to create templates for projects/releases so we can stay on top of/delegate all tasks related to content creation, knowledge base updates, and more. This has reduced the mental load of creating a successful kickoff and we can fine tune the details as needed, but the bulk of the project itself is ready to go. I also love that I can integrate with my calendar, so my assigned tasks and their due dates populate and I can prioritize my weeks appropriately.

What do you dislike about Asana?

May be less of an Asana issue and more of an implementation issue - some of my team lives in Asana and are very effective at using, but others seem to be hesitant to integrate it into their workflows as the startup of building large projects with dependencies and approvals can be a bit of a big lift starting out. Maybe more proactive resources from Asana on how to get started could help ease some of that intimidation.

What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you?

Our product is constantly evolving and this requires us to move quickly to create/update lots of content. Using projects to create tasks for all content work helps us track progress and delegate work equally across our team and due dates help us stay on track.

"Very Organized and Easy to Use"

What do you like best about Asana?

I am new to my organization but learning Asana was a breeze. The layout is very organized and easy to use. It has simplified my workload and allowed my to jump into my team seamlessly. There are a ton of tools, even certifications available to assist in getting you comfortable in using Asana, all which were incredibly helpful, both live and to do at your own pace.

What do you dislike about Asana?

I do have some hissucps with Outlook's caendar and Asana talking back and forth if dates and times update. However the initial event does record.

What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you?

We utilize for workflow and project management, as well as to ensure our team who is everywhere out in the field know where to be and what to do at all times, ensuring accountability as well. The tasks lists ensures to outlines each step, then the timeline and gannt puts it in realtime to show how it will all get done. You can tie each area together with dependancies so that if you need to move things aorund it will adjust for you so you dont have to start all over as well. A lot of convenience factors to assist you.

"Intuitive productivity tool"

What do you like best about Asana?

I use the free version through the desktop app. I use it every day for work and also to keep my personal life organised. You get a lot of features for free and for a small organisation, it does the job. From the beginning, I liked how easy it was to use compared to other tools. It's transformed the way we work and organise ourselves. The impetus for getting it was to easily manage my team's tasks but it's really evolved beyond just that.

What do you dislike about Asana?

This is not a downside per se, but like any productivity tool, it only works if you set it up in a way that works for your organisation. I've tried multiple layouts and now I'm happy with the way it works. We're a marketing company and a project per client didn't really help us in any way. Now I have projects categorised by the type of tasks, e.g., writing. At the beginning, I also put way too many tasks on Asana, down to the smallest thing, and it got overwhelming.

What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you?

Staying organised across all our clients

Visibility of team tasks and workload for easier management

"Game changer for organization!"

What do you like best about Asana?

Asana has helped our organization be more efficient and productive with our time. We spend less time searching for things because we have it organized in projects for each of our teams. With the due date feature, we are able to stay on track with what needs to be accomplished. We also have more visibility into what are teams are up to, how work is progressing, and when we need to step in and help get something to the finish line. The ability for our employees to collaborate is also a major benefit. It's all organized into one location - no more conversations hidden in private chats! I also love that they are constantly providing updates and rolling out new and useful features. Asana has definitely become a staple in our business.

What do you dislike about Asana?

I do wish it was a little more affordable for small businesses. However, we are still going to pay for it.

What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you?

The biggest problem we had before is work being in too many places and not always having the visibility we needed to get work done.

"I made my whole team sign-up for Asana!"

What do you like best about Asana?

I think Asana is really to use and fairly intuitive. I was using it for my small business and I also work part-time, and because I loved using it so much in my business I got my whole team at my part-time job to get on it and they all love it! It helps keep me on task for all the different projects I have and helps me set up systems in my business and my job.

What do you dislike about Asana?

The only feature I really dislike is the fact that recurring tasks don't populate on a day-to-day or week-to-week basiss automatically unless you compelte the previous task as "complete". Sometimes you don't get to that recurring task that day and can't check it off but I "have to" in order to see it up pop up again the next day or the next week.

What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you?

I have a lot of projects I have my hand in and it helps keep me organized so I don't drop the ball

"Extra brain for super-small business & bigger businesses. Licenses are a chasm between the two."

What do you like best about Asana?

Asana is very easy to use, intuitive for my team members who don't have tech backgrounds but need to start and contribute right away. It's our six-person org's collective "brain" that allows us to self-organize and move quickly. Implementation can be a little tricky if you don't have a good information architecture model or exposure to work-planning tools, but it's easy to find someone who can set it up for a small fee, too. Once configured, ongoing support needs are really minimal. We use it all day long, every day, managing everything from our own internal operations and marketing work through our marketing, sales, permitting, project management, build, and delivery process for construction. Integration with Google Drive & Gmail is simple, and provides even more efficient use of our tools.

What do you dislike about Asana?

When we were tiny - 3 people - it was a lifesaver. We are now six, and expect this to be our full complement of staff for at least a couple of years. Asana does not allow us to buy six licenses - we had to buy 10. We tried to limp along with one sales person as a "Guest" - but that didn't work. So we've paid for 10 licenses, at an advanced tier to get the Portfolio and Rules features we depend on - but I'm actively scouting alternatives to move to if Asana doesn't change this policy. I'm a principal here, but also consult/contract with other businesses, and if they're also going to land at that "small, but not super-small" size, I warn them about the chasm that they'll hit with licenses.

What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you?

Asana handles all of our business coordination. We manage our strategy, operations, customer engagement (our CRM is really deficient for all but incoming referrals), design, permitting, and build with the tool. It lets us work with our barebones staff very efficiently and effectively. It's a huge factor in ensuring that we meet and exceed our customers' expectations, and in enabling us to work as a linked team without the need for a lot of meetings to coordinate (or worse - email!). We pass along those savings to our customers, which enables us to have very competitive pricing even for high quality products in a very competitive arena and market.

"The key tool for optimizing team project management"

What do you like best about Asana?

Easy-to-use interface: Asana's interface is easy to use and intuitive, which makes navigating the platform and performing specific tasks easier. Wide variety of functionalities: you can create and assign tasks, monitor task progress, collaborate in teams, and communicate with team members, among other things. This makes it an extremely versatile and useful tool for a variety of project types.

What do you dislike about Asana?

What I find most difficult is being able to paste text into tasks, as it erases all the formatting and the text looks bad, which complicates things for me when I have tasks to copy and paste.

Personally, the way to delete tasks seems a bit tedious to me, since there are two buttons and it's not very intuitive.

What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you?

It helps us at work to maintain relationships with all the teams. Integrations are useful: Collaboration and team communication are further improved by integrating with a variety of other tools and platforms, such as Slack and Google Drive.

"Asana is great to manage workflows in day to day operations"

What do you like best about Asana?

Asana is very good for multi tasking and it has so many tools that help to create and handle complex projects. Its very easy to use and can be integrated with multiple tools and implemented for complex projects. And we've been using Asana to track everyday tasks. The customer support is very efficient and helpful.

What do you dislike about Asana?

It is difficult to understand at the very start and can get a bit intimidating and would want all my final approved files in one place so its easier for peers to navigate once the update is done from my end.

What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you?

Asana is solving our cross collaboration efforts which used to get lost via multiple email threads, teams messages by having everything managed in single system. It helps to centralize process in the project and keep all files organized at one place.

"The best cross-collaboration tool for our company :)"

What do you like best about Asana?

I love the use of portfolios and projects and how you can seamlessly track everything in one place but have everything filed and organised. I use a lot of automation to make our process flows more effective which has helped massively in onboarding other team members into the use of Asana for every day tasks.

What do you dislike about Asana?

I struggle to get work colleagues to use it to it's full potential, which is why training and keeping messaging clear and concise has helped me a lot. Sometimes Asana can be a little complex for people to give it the time it deserves to operate effectively.

What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you?

Asana is slowly solving our cross collaboration efforts which have previously been lost via multiple email chains, teams messages and the like. Simplifying the process in Asana and having everyone in one space to use as they wish has been pivotal to cross collaborating across our workforce.

"Asana streamlined our workflow!"

What do you like best about Asana?

I’ve been using Asana for some time now, and it has truly transformed the way my team collaborates and stays organized. The platform is intuitive, feature-rich, and has made task management much more streamlined and efficient. I especially love how customizable it is, allowing us to create workflows that fit our team’s unique needs.

Recently, I attended a training session on how to unlock efficiency with Asana’s AI feature, and it was incredibly helpful! Essence was knowledgeable and made complex concepts easy to understand. I learned several new tips and tricks.

If you’re looking for a powerful, user-friendly tool to help manage your projects, Asana is a game-changer. I highly recommend attending one of their training sessions if you want to take your Asana skills to the next level!

What do you dislike about Asana?

There is currently nothing that I don't like about Asana.

What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you?

It is helping our team stay organized and on track with customer projects.

"Helps in Task Management"

What do you like best about Asana?

Good for delegating tasks and tracking completion for tasks alotted. Once the app is udnerstood with all teh features inbuilt , its make the manager or any project owner life easier for tracking completions. App is used daily in terms of taks division and rank them on priority. Customer support is available for any questions post FAQ reference.

What do you dislike about Asana?

Could be more simplified and user friendly as it takes alot of time to initially understand the whole app and intergrate for usage while implementing the features was taken care by guides.

What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you?

I'm driving a specific metric project which involve a lot of efforts in temrs of seeking information from multiple collaborators while the same need sto be completed in timelines given. So, using ASana I'm able to delegate and track teh task completions from the project contributors to ensur ethe mrteic drive in goign in direction with path to goal defined.

"and still the best project management system"

What do you like best about Asana?

1. Simplicity, ease, speed.

2. The most intuitive interface in the industry

3. The best Inbox

4. Multi-project

5. Simple automation

6. Clear, simple and structured API

7. Many ready-made integrations

8. Convenient mobile application

9. Powerful AI, the best in the industry

10. Good structure for organizing team work

12. Flexible configuration of information displays

13. Low entry threshold. No need for complex implementations and long employee training (learns on the fly)

14. Goals linked to milestones and projects

What do you dislike about Asana?

1. weak search

2. no OCR search inside files

3. poor file organization (good example of implementation in slack)

4. Messaging needs to be improved! Build a good chat.

5. Allow time management in the mobile version.

6. More flexible automations for working with mail

7. Knowledge base function (note essence)

8. Weak reports, especially for accounting of time spent (for example, there is absolutely no way to see the team's throughput in hours (for example: an employee can work 40 hours a week, and it is difficult to compare how many hours he has a task for and then compare it with the fact)

What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you?

management: development, technical support, warehouse, deliveries (there is integration with transport companies), accounting, all operational tasks of the companyAsana helps us effectively manage development, technical support, warehouse, deliveries (integration with transport companies), accounting and all operational tasks of the company. "Exactly what my team needed to get on track managing projects and tasks!"

What do you like best about Asana?

I chose Asana over some competitors because the free version had list view, which seemed more intuitive. Asana makes it easy to add new projects, tasks, and details (including links, attachments, etc.) so that everything for the project is in one place. Much easier to work with than the spreadsheet and list system that we had before.

What do you dislike about Asana?

Some of the best features require the paid version. There are a few features that I would use in the paid version, but a lot of the features are not needed. If there was an option for add-ons or a low-tier package that just included a few essentials, that would be better for my budget.

What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you?

It was difficult to keep track of all the tasks the team was working on before, but Asana makes it easier to visualize the big picture and see all the tasks in one place.

"Best Productivity Tool"

What do you like best about Asana?

Asana is one of the best productivity tool to manage your multiple projects/businesses. Through Asana I can setup my different projects and setup tasks, calenders and many more!! and through the dashboard I can get a consolidated view of my takes that I need to do! The best part is the 30 days free trial to try out the paid version then can upgrade or continue to use the free version

What do you dislike about Asana?

Asana is a great tool but for beginners it can be overwhelming and there is way of getting a demo session, I tried to reach out to their sales team for the same but no response, With these many number of features I feel to perfectly utilise all the features one need to have a demo call.

What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you?

Asana helps in managing my different projects easily. Be it be project research, team management, task management or any other thing that you can expect from a productivity management tool you will find here.

"Asana for Small and Large Teams"

What do you like best about Asana?

Love that it's very easy to use and they keep imporving on the tool over time. It's a tool you can really use in a simple way or as advanced as you can think up! They have added great automation features over the years that have been very helpful as well. It's also a great tool for growing companies so you can scale up easily. We also integrate this tool with Zapier and our CRM. I also love how they have webinars and learning options as well.

What do you dislike about Asana?

As far as downsides it's almost so easy that everyone thinks they are an expert. So there is defiently long ways and short/better ways to do things. So sometimes people can go rogue easy.

What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you?

Asana helps us manage our entire company and all projects within it!

"Asana's the BEST!"

What do you like best about Asana?

I've used pretty much ALL the similar options for managing work, and Asana is the perfect balance of powerful tool + user-friendly. I selected Asana for a role at a new company this year because I knew it needed to be easy to jump in, and everyone has been able to jump right in.

What do you dislike about Asana?

I do wish it was more visual. (I feel like it had board options in the past that allowed for arraying graphics and other visuals...?)

What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you?

It's making it easier to hand things off among team members when there's a process involved. Automatically handing things off to the next person in the sequence with rules is fantastic. Plus, the simple act of setting up workflows makes you really think about how to get to the desired outcome most effectively and efficiently.

"Poor experience with over billing - GO month to month if you use Asana vrs. being locked in."

What do you like best about Asana?

Depth of outside independent support available. Also, hiring new staff has used Asana more than most other project management software in the past. They offer a month-to-month pay option, so you don't have to get locked in when you decide to move to a different service.

What do you dislike about Asana?

In month four billing, Asana auto-added a user to our account and billed us for them. Since they added someone who has not worked here in over a year, we ask them to remove this and issue a credit since it is clearly an error. Asana refused and cited their lengthy legal user agreement vs. Doing right by the customer and just issuing that single credit. Unfortunately, we wasted about three months with their product.

What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you?

It was allowing group colabration on projects and a quick view of the status of a project.

"Perfect Tool for Non-profit Project Management"

What do you like best about Asana?

It is set up for collaboration between team members and departments. My team is saving time by seeing cross-departmental updates in Asana versus sending emails or trying to find each other in-person for updates.

Overall, the platform is easy to use, and the online resources and articles are extremely helpful.

What do you dislike about Asana?

I wish that if a template were updated, all the current uses of that template would be updated as well.

I also wish there were a clear way to choose a default Account for users who have more than one account.

What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you?

Asana is helping to solve the problem of poor communication within my organization. Where we would often ask each other for updates, we now can see updates in real-time. This is saving time for all team members.

Asana is also giving us a central location to store key projects, workflows, and processes. Before, we were digging for information in multiple locations, and now we have a central place to store information, helping to save time and add clarity.

"A list-making nerd's playground!"

What do you like best about Asana?

I've been a huge fan of Excel for years and will jump at the chance to create a spreadsheet for tasks, to do lists, projects, etc. Furthermore, I am a big-time list writer/crosser-offer. Asana makes it very easy to all of the above things, but then takes it leaps and bounds further by tying in tons of features to help you complete tasks in a timely manner, assign them to other people, add due dates, and get reminders. AND then you get to click that little completion check box and see the task grey itself out.

I've got the desktop version installed on my laptop, the app on my iPhone, and the plug-ins for Chrome. So, there is very seemless integration across platforms and formats. Hard to miss a reminder that way!

The customer support is phenomenal. Plus, all of the FREE live trainings (as well as pre-recorded) are very helpful to get started.

What do you dislike about Asana?

I am glad that I leapt right into the live trainings because it does take a little getting used to. Implementation takes a little while and I found myself creating tasks that I then had to alter because I had sort of painted myself into a corner. But to be honest, I have to really stretch to think of something that I dislike.

It's maybe a little overkill for what I'm needing to use it for (I don't have a team... it's just me). But to be honest, so was Excel!

What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you?

I have to do a lot of cold pitching. So Asana is really helpful in tracking who I need to message and what to do after I have pitched.

My business is new, so I don't have any clients yet, but when I do start working on client projects, I plan to use Asana to move the project through to completion in a timely manner.

"Asana has changed the way our organziation collaborates as a team!"

What do you like best about Asana?

Easy to use, understand, and, most importantly, to teach. No one likes change, but no one likes to live in 'email purgatory' as an organizational strategy, either. We went from apprehension to adherence in a few short weeks, which has led our team to solve issues by asking, 'How can Asana help us do this?'!

The free version is robust and easy to use. Still, as we continue to grow and rely on Asana daily, we are about to upgrade to add features that benefit our team's organizational goals.

Asana is the best thing that has happened to our office workflow and accountability structure in a long time. I highly recommend it.

What do you dislike about Asana?

Nothing is perfect but we haven't found any major flaws with Asana.

What problems is Asana solving and how is that benefiting you?

Workflow and deadlines are the initial and major issues that Asana has solved for our team. As we learn more we are continuing to integrate Asana more and more.
