What is Perplexity?
Perplexity is the fastest way to get information. It's a tool that empowers everyone in the world to learn anything in their own way, using their own language or at their own level. When you ask a question, we take all the information available, compress it, and build a bridge between you and the information. If you want to learn about nuclear fission and you have a PhD in math, it can be explained. If you want to learn about nuclear fission and you are in middle school, it can be explained. Perplexity is a tool that you use, not an AI you talk to. We don't anthropomorphize the technology but instead give it to you to wield. Imagine having instant access to the world's knowledge in your pocket. Something that everyone should be able to use and the discerning should appreciate.

Even when I know this might be something related to the safety of the platform. I hate having an open window in Google Chromes with Perplexity and have to authenticate my credentials every time I need to interact with the system.

During my brainstorming process is allowing me to validate my findings by checking the source of the information

As an early user, I find it perfect for research and idea and knowledge generation. I use it contantly for all kinds of information (since late 2022).

There are not many, follow up questions sometimes are less accurate than needed. But, there are no flaws to content generation.

I work within the skilled trades social media world and the information I can gather is voluminous. Perplexity is fast and it includes where the info is coming from.

It helps me to do a wide range of work, it helps me to learn about everything from science, news all the way to coding.

What do you like best about Perplexity?
I was able to search for specific topics with sources. Instead of throwing random information, Perplexity shows where the information is taken, from its source, and I'm able to verify if the source is from a reliable website. While searching for writing content or searching about certain research topics finding sources is almost important and Perplexity does it better. It's easy to use on PC and Mobile and its UI is very user friendly. Perplexity can be used and relied up on everyday for extensive search and writing.
What do you dislike about Perplexity?
There is nothing much to dislike, however, I would encourage them to add research papers as sources as well.
What problems is Perplexity solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it for multiple uses from research to technical writing, blogs, and retrieving information. It benefits greatly to check the source website related to my search.

Better than paying for just ChatGPT, which comes with this subscription, and more thorough than Gemini.
Using it for research is fast and accurate information, especially for things like drafting emails and researching for presentations.
Its versatility across tasks and commitment to security and privacy make it a powerful ally, allowing me to focus on strategic, value-adding activities.
It's awesome to choose my LLM model so I can switch for the best fit (like OpenAI vs Anthropic) without changing tools or workflows, so I always get the best results.
What do you dislike about Perplexity?
It's fantastic for finding the information and validating. At times I wish I could make a Thread more collaborative with Notes or Comments that a teammate can chime in on, or see.
I'd love the ability to also switch LLM per thread
What problems is Perplexity solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reasearch and idea generation are the two main problems Perplexity solves for me today. The ability to quickly understand a topic with cited sources, and to help me generate new content or ideas has been a game changer.
I can't stress enough how helpful the ability to change between LLM models has been, so I get the flexibility to use the best tools for the job, without switching between services.

its giving me response in a conversational way along with that will have source of inforamtion ( which is better if i want extra info) , best thing is vedios a better way of explanation and we can able to upload files

I was using many generative AI tools , but something special about Perplexity is it will give the response in a summarized way citing the sources which helps me verify inforamtion and extactly where the inforamtion is getting . Another best thing is it will give information in real time

It is not best fit for local languages like Telugu

1) Normal search engines will give a lot of websites which will confuse me, but in perplexity it will answer directly like a one to one conversational way
2) we have an option called Focus ,we can able to search in certain feilds like ( Academic , Youtube , reddit , ...)

What do you like best about Perplexity?
In this AI Tool i have noticed that this tool gives the urls that will give you the exact summary about the topic that you search for and provide you the source from which you can get more details about it not like the other ai tools which give you only response and not provide the source from where it got the data and summarize it.its solutions can be integrated easily on the platform.It is easy to use you just need to write your query and it will provide you the solution ,you can implement the solutions provided from it .I used this software frequently whenever i need accurate and fast solutions.Till now i have taken the help from their customer support and got the right guidance and support.
What do you dislike about Perplexity?
It did not have the ability to access external sources beyond the search results presented by me . Therefore, my responses are limited to the content within those sources .
What problems is Perplexity solving and how is that benefiting you?
getting the accurate solution for the problem and provide the sources for the solution of the problem that can resolve the problem and query ASAP.Here when i used it i got nice and exact answers that i was looking for and tested the solution that worked for me and resolve my problems within minutes. it simplifies the problem and give the solution in simple and short words .

What do you like best about Perplexity?
The simple question format makes prompt building incredibly simple, but it is the multi-layered responses where the power lies.
A brief question such as "What makes the best beef pie?" brings up a selection of highly-rated recipes, cooking tips, and advice on which ingredients are best.
So, rather than googling each factor, all the information (and some follow-up questions) is presented on one page.
In addition, the search is saved to your profile, so you can revisit the information at any time.
It is easy to use and, by far, one of my favourite AI tools.
What do you dislike about Perplexity?
Unfortunately, much as I love this app, it is easy to forget. I still default to Google or head to other information-gathering tools by default (perhaps that's an age/habit thing).
I have Perplexity on my phone's home screen and still forget about it.

Perplexity is a quick, multi-faceted search tool with additional resources and references, meaning that information can be verified and explored on a deeper level.
It saves time, in that one question presents multiple streams of relevant information.

What do you like best about Perplexity?
In a world where differentiation between the LLMs is waning, what makes a solution stand above the rest is the special sauce they add on top of the standard outputs. For Perplexity, the special sauce is the citations they include in all outputs. For someone doing research, this is a game-changer as it gives you a direct link to check the information and use it in your work. Another positive is the follow-up questions that they offer to help you drill deeper into your research.
What do you dislike about Perplexity?
Honestly none. It is a great tool for research. I wouldn't use it for anything creative as it is too matter-of-fact, but it does what it is designed to do well.
